Job 35 Commentary
Please choose a passage
Elihu’s opening statement sets the tone for a stern rebuke, challenging Job to contemplate God’s righteousness in a deeper way.
Job must never forget his position under a God whose righteousness is both impeccable and unassailable.
God values steadfast faithfulness far beyond what our eyes can see.
This verse highlights that true wisdom finds its source in God alone and that He speaks into our pain even when human explanations fall short.
“Because God’s perspective is higher in wisdom, we are invited to live humbly and entrust our anxieties to Him.”
God’s greatness remains unaffected by our sins, but our own hearts and lives suffer when our transgressions move us away from His presence.
God’s sufficiency remains untouched by our righteousness.
Human actions do not diminish God's character, but they greatly affect our own condition and the well-being of those around us.
Oppression often drives people to recognize their need for God’s just and compassionate rule.
God is the ever-present Comforter, and remembering Him in our distress leads to hope and praise instead of despair.
God alone teaches us far beyond what nature can offer, inviting us into a wisdom that transcends earthly knowledge.
God’s response to humanity finds its fullest expression when believers approach Him humbly.
God invites us to approach Him with honest words that reflect humble trust in His goodness.
We must continue to wait on God with trust, especially when His hand is not immediately visible.
God’s patience and detachment from our immediate sense of justice do not negate His ultimate authority.
God’s sovereignty surpasses human reasoning; empty rhetoric can never replace humble reliance on the Lord.
