Psalms 113 Commentary

Praise is the joyful acknowledgment that God alone is worthy of our wholehearted devotion.

God’s name is forever exalted.

This verse is a sweeping invitation to praise God ceaselessly as a sign of gratitude, trust, and recognition of the LORD’s greatness.

God’s matchless power and majesty merit our highest praise and unwavering trust.

Psalm 113:5 declares God’s peerless majesty and ever-abiding compassion.

God is enthroned on high yet intimately involved in the affairs of His creation.

God graciously exalts those who are humble and in need.

God graciously elevates the humble and seats them among the mighty.

He grants children to the childless, and He transforms desperation into rejoicing.
